INTRODUCTION:
The
WaveTrader CSVDATA system is designed for traders working online who have the
facility to EXPORT data from their online program in a fixed CSV (ascui format
data file), from there you can load this data into the WaveTrader CSVDATA
charting program and apply the WT analysis routines taught in the TRADING TO WIN manuals.
The software is not attached to any online data feed but if you refresh your intra-day information regularly it is an amazing compliment to your realtime online analysis package. The WT-CSVDATA module can be used to analyse the current market information for accurate levels that will reveal future support and resistance where making a trading decision becomes easy.
The WT-CSV module allows you to plot any price series in 1, 5, 10, 15, 30, 60 minute price bars or any other time frame that your REAL DATA FEED will allow you to export to the required data format. It is also possible to have your online data feed create and update files that will conform on a regular update basis automatically - for further information on this possibility you will need to consult your online data provider.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN USING GEOMETRIC LEVELS TO MAKE TRADING DECISIONS from you will find that this software allows you to stay informed at an unequalled pace to other traders.
ADVANTAGES are:-
1. Review the current Retracement Support & Resistance
levels the market may be approaching.
2.
Review the current Alternate Wave Projection levels the market maybe
approaching.
3. Review accurately any type
of RATIO relationship between the markets current UP and DOWN legs.
4. Quickly measure the price units, SQR 9, % Change
and time durations of any current market move.
5. Run my SWING THEORY over the current data and review the X-ABCD
relationships in seconds. You can also
edit in a target price and test for the X-ABCD ratios
at the anticipated level.
6. Visually see
where the SWING levels reside on the unfolding market pattern. Test over smaller
to higher time
frames for an
overall perspective.
8. After hours you
can use this module to accurately prepare for the next days trading session if
you understand
what is
required to control your own destiny.
9.
You can use the routines to forecast if you like but that is not my
recomendation. Better to just identify
the important things as they happen than stick your
head out like a turkey waiting for the axe to fall.
If you know the facts on what the best professional
traders are monitoring you can run your own race and beat all those guys who
don't know rather than just rely on someone else for advice. You must do some
work to stay ahead of the fodder feed if you want to be successful, I have ways
and the means to do that.
OLD NEWS:
I have programed a WaveTrader module to read in the CSV data
format provided by the QCHARTS & ESIGNAL Export data facility.
The problem with most online systems is that they do not allow you to take quick measurements of how the market is unfolding and if you rely on a calculator you miss so many things. For this reason I have a set of standard tools that are quickly executed and miraculously information you missed becomes available. I have found it increases the analysis power of the original software by about a 100 times when you are trading short-term. It is amazing what you find when you start breaking the market down into minutes rather than days.
The market moves along like it's doing a dance in all degrees of price movement, the beat is an ABC, ABC, ABC, ABC type of movement and all the small waves relate to each other just the same as they do in the big picture, sometimes even better. My trading record has improved dramically since I moved to this approach.
The CSV-Charts module is controlled from the front Menu of the WaveTrader but requires a standard set up procedure to be used to operate it.
The version 2003:10v that is issued to current FULL PACKAGE WAVETRADER /CYCLETRADER USERS requires the following SET UP to OPERATE. The TTW 2003:10 version now uses the same conventions.
1. Users must create a folder (C:\CSVDATA) on their
computer to download the CSV export data files into.
2.
File names must be kept in the DOS convention, ie., leading names must be up to
8 letters only.
3. Length of Export files must be 500
records or less.
That is about all and then all the standard WaveTrader routines are available on the intraday data.
NOTE: Users of the stand alone intra-day CSV-CHART module issued with the TTW package require a different SET UP - these details are supplied with the CD. The default FOLDER for use with this program is C:\CSVDATA
If you use the QCharts or ESIGNAL intraday system you can Export data from your current window into the C:\CSVDATA folder and have the CSV WaveTrader module running in another window, just tab across and go straight to work.
It may be possible to generate the same format data from other systems, if so
it will work the same.
EXPORTING DATA FROM
QCHARTS or ESIGNAL to the correct FOLDER:
Normal WAVETRADER users use C:\CSVDATA
TTW intra-day module users use C:\CSVDATA
In QCharts remember to set the file length below 600 entries - this will save time on [X] reloads.
ESIGNAL
DATA FILE NAMES - DOS
Conventions:
Data file names need to be restricted to 8 letters or less names - they will appear in your folders with an extention .CSV
example: Edit the file name as something like ES02U-5 or select an existing file to overwrite.
You would save this file through the EXPORT facility as ES02U-5 and each time you updated it you would just overwrite the existing file.
The file will appear in your FOLDER directory listing as
ES02U-5.CSV
INSTALLATION: for TTW single CSV
users
1. Create a FOLDER on your computer
C:\CSVDATA
2. Copy the contents of the CD to this
folder.
3. Using EXPLORE select the FOLDER
CSVDATA
4. Drag the SHORTCUT Shortcut to TTWCSV
to your desktop.
5. To RUN Double Click on the
Desktop ICON.
BOOT THE CSV Module:
This is the MENU that will come up.
KEYBOARD COMMANDS:
From now on everything you do will be controlled from the
KEYBOARD.
NEXT STEP:
From the front MENU select 1. [Load a data file]
A menu similar to this will appear
.
Answer: Y
A prompt will appear.
TYPE IN THE DATA FILE NAME you wish to load:
ANSWER: ES02U-5
When you have the name SPELT correctly.
KEY: ENTER
This MENU will appear so that you can see if your CSVDATA
complies with the convention
allowed within the
WAVETRADER program. In this case you would select option [2].
You will see the data being loaded as it flashes on the
screen.
# If you get an error there will only be ONE
reason:
1. You did not Export the
file with the correct fields allowed.
MAIN CHARTING MENU:
THIS MENU CONTROLS the following:-
3. Load new Data or X load same data file name.
If you are using the program in real time you will continually need to EXPORT updated data to your working file. When you export data for the futures contract just overwrite the new data to the same data file name and you can speed up the refreshing process using the X command. The program remembers the name you entered earlier and it will just reload the new data in a flash. You will be asked to identify the format of the file but that is only 1 key press.
2. Data Facilities.
This option allows you to manipulate the data loaded in memory for the correct display on your WaveTrader screen.
The QCharts Export facilitily downloads with the decimal places already in the data but the ESIGNAL downloads without and requires you to use the function #2 to insert the decimal within the data loaded. If you are working with ESignal files you will need to Key [2] and then [2] to adjust the data otherwise you will end up with % signs on your display if the price value is high.
1. Display CHARTS:
This will get you into the chart display.
The default loads and displays all the data you have loaded up to a maximum of 505 bars. If you have saved a file using export data from QCCHARTS make sure it does not save more than the last 500 bars from the current trading bar.
CHART DISPLAY:

SCROLL MODE:
The keyboard numeric
keypad controls the indicator movement. There are some fast keys or you can move
around one bar at a time.
The NUMLOCK needs to be ON and the CAPSLOCK needs to be ON these
will be booted on by the program when you load it but if you are switching
WINDOWS backwards and forwards you may turn them OFF when in other programs
when you TAB back into WT make sure you switch them back ON.
When you want to use the Cursor commands on the NUMERIC
KEY PAD just depress the SHIFT KEY and hit them at the same time. Enter the
SCROLL mode and experiment with the key commands mentioned above.

WORK AREA TOOLS
The first thing you are going to need to do is display only the data range you wish to work with. To do that you enter Scroll and place the indicator on the starting point where you key 5 you then move the indicator to last bar you wish to have in the display and key 2. Then you key Z
You will find that to get the required results from your chart you may have to ZOOM the data area you wish to interrogate.
Once you become familiar with the KEYS for manipulating the data on view and moving the indicator around the screen you will be able to manipulate the work area faster than a windows based program and with greater control.
These instructions will get you up and running.
See Section 2 for a more detailed
description of the routines available.
